VCA / ESIR REPORT

REDCLIFFE AERO CLUB   ESIR REPORT

Redcliffe Aero Club considers a focus on Air Safety of the highest priority when conducting our operations,  hence considers any ESIR a real and significant threat to air traffic operations.  RAC engages in a comprehensive "managed response" to such safety reports in partnership with the Pilot in Command and Airservices Australia.  This action / response is detailed in a standard flow chart located within our Safety Management System (see link below) and has been reviewed by the Airservices Australia Safety Programs Division.   The response is focused on safety improvement and accepts our responsibility to ensure that the PIC of our aircraft possess the knowledge, skills and behaviour (competency) to exercise the privileges of a Private Pilot's Licence.  Hence, this competency needs to be demonstrated prior to any further private hiring of aircraft.  There is no focus on penalty or blame and the Aero Club response should encourage a positive learning experience from the event.

To be completed jointly with your Flight Instructor - Upon final demonstration of a "safe" standard.

I acknowledge the process detailed above by The Redcliffe Aero Club's Safety Management System response to ESIR's.  I have hence noted from that managed response, that any future ESIR's may result in significant retraining as outlined above prior to any further private hire with the Redcliffe Aero Club.

I have reviewed the information detailed by Airservices Australia on the website relating to VCA's http://www.airservices.gov.au/pilotcentre/training/flyingaround/default.asp.  I am confident that I have gained additional training and guidance by a Flight Instructor sufficient to avoid further ESIR / VCA events whilst acting as Pilot In Command.  By signing below (print full name) I acknowledge a copy of this safety report will be submitted to third parties including Airservices Australia Safety Programs and potentially CASA upon clicking send.
