The shape of the industry is about to enter a period of fundamental change. The regulatory agency,

CASA, currently seems to be struggling with the whole UAV, RAAUS, GA thing, and governments
typically wax and wane in their interest in the small end of the industry (mostly wane, it must be
said). At the moment both Federal and State governments are fans of regional aviation and aviation
training, of which a very large proportion is provided by GA. The future of regulation is uncertain,
with CASA’s future by no means guaranteed

YRED’s location is very convenient for Members from Brisbane and SEQ generally. We are an

inconvenience to Brisbane airport and BAC. That facility will continue to grow and demand more
committed airspace for its activities. So will the fabled new SEQ GA aerodrome ever eventuate?
What can we do to influence that decision?

Lots of very interesting issues for our future Committees.

Hope we haven’t spoiled your Christmas lunch.

Best wishes for the festive season.
